Aussie Racing Cars (ARC) are proud to announce that
Australia's largest motorsports category will commence its 2013 championship on
the streets of Adelaide at the Clipsal 500. ARC is anticipating the 2013 event
to be the biggest ever for the category, following on from the launch of ARCs
all new Car of the Future on the Gold Coast last month, Australia's largest
manufacturer of racing cars is pushing ahead with the production and sale of 20
brand new spec cars including an all new Holden Cruse body shape in the lead up
to the Clipsal event.
Phil Ward has announced that he has sold his Aussie Racing
Cars Category Management and Manufacturing businesses (ARC) to Tony Quinn. The
sale draws to a close Ward’s reign of the Aussie Racing Cars Category which
spanned over 15 years during which time, Ward has built from scratch one of
most successful national race categories in Australian history.
Phil Ward said, “The sale of what has been a labor of love
since I built and developed the first Aussie racing cars for sale that became an entire category
meets me with mixed emotions. On one
hand I am excited that it is in good hands and that the well respected
motorsport oriented family headed by Tony Quinn who has the passion and
resources to take my product to a different level, while on the other hand I
will miss the day to day pleasure, and pride of my involvement which the cars
bring from not only an engineering perspective but from a drivers perspective
as well. This year is my 43rd since my
first competition drive in the sport and although I intend to relax a little my
work in the sport will still be at the forefront of mind as I continue to
operate my race car preparation facility catering for both historic and modern
race car engineering. I wish the Quinn’s
the very best with my product and I trust the category success within the
industry will achieve new heights under their leadership.”
Under its new owners, the Aussie Racing Cars for sale
category will form an alliance with the Australian GT Championship (AGT)
management team, also owned by Quinn.
The ARC headquarters will be re-located to be with AGT at The Driving
Centre at Norwell, just north of the Gold Coast.
James and Brad Ward will be retained in their current roles
with the addition of former V8 Supercar driver, Jason Bergmann in a sponsorship
and media management capacity.
